Help for ICHC members

Help for users of the website

If you have a question about logging in and using the website, you'll hopefully find the answer here..

Part A : If you don't have a username and password for the website yet...

  1. These instructions are for registering a new account. If you already have an account but have lost your details, please don't make another. Instead, read Part B below.
  2. Scroll down the page until you see the "Members" section in the left hand bar, and click on the "Register" link, at the bottom of this section.
  3. Fill in your details, preferably using your @imperial.ac.uk email address. Your username for the site will be your forename.surname that you type in, e.g. alexander.summers. You'll be able to edit these details later, if you like.
  4. When you are finished, click "Submit". You will then have to wait for your account to be enabled (this is to stop random people signing up). You will receive an email once your account is ready, which will also contain your password.
  5. Once you have received this email, go on to Part C.

Part B : If you have a username and password, but have forgotten one or both of them...

  1. Your username will be your forename.surname (as you typed them in when you registered), e.g. alexander.summers
  2. If you're unable to figure out which username is yours, please email webmaster@imperialhockey.co.uk
  3. Once you know your username, scroll down the page until you see the "Members" section in the left hand bar, and click on the "Forgot Password?" link.
  4. You should input your username on this page. Once you've typed your username in, click "Request Password".
  5. You will be sent an email (to the address you registered with) containing a new password. Once you have received this email, go to Part C.

Part C : If you know your username and password, you can log in...

  1. Scroll down the page until you see the "Members" section in the left hand bar, and type in your username and password in the boxes provided. Then click "Log in".
  2. You should now be logged in to the site. You can check this, by scrolling down to the Members section again, which should now greet you, e.g. "Hello Alex".
  3. If you didn't manage to login to the site, you can try again, or you can go to Part B if you think you've forgotten your username and password. Alternatively, email webmaster@imperialhockey.co.uk for help.
  4. Once you've logged in successfully, all the members-only features of the website are accessible to you. In particular, you can register for training (see Part D).
  5. If you would like to change your password, you will find a "Change Password" link in the Members section of the left-hand menu.

Part D : To register for training..

  1. Login to the website (see above)
  2. Click on the "Training" link in the left-hand bar (it is fairly near the top of the page).
  3. Click on "Select Training Date" and choose the day you would like to sign up for. You may also choose "Club Transport" or "Make own way" underneath (but it assumes Club Transport by default).
  4. Click "Register for Training". You should now see a message "You have registered for a new training session." at the top of the page.
  5. The dates you have registered for are listed on the same page, just below where you register. If you wish to remove yourself from a training session (before the Friday 1pm deadline) you can do so here.

Part E : To login to a mailing list which you're on..

  1. Go to the web address http://imperialhockey .co.uk/mailman/listinfo and click on the mailing list you're interested in.
  2. Scroll down the page and enter your subscribed email address in the bottom box, then click the button next to it saying "Unsubscribe or edit options".
  3. You will now be prompted for a mailing list password. You probably don't know it (it's not your usual ICHC one), so click the "Remind" button further down the page.
  4. Check your email, and enter the password you've been sent in the box further up the page, and click "Log in".
  5. You can now edit your subscription to this list.
Please do not unsubscribe from club-announce while you're still in the hockey club, or from a team list while you're still in the team.

Part F: To update all the ICHC mailing lists if your email address changes (like many imperial ones have lately)..

  1. Log in to the club-announce mailing list (using your old address), by following the steps in Part E.
  2. Look at the section near the top called "Changing your Club-announce membership information".
  3. Enter your new email address in the two boxes labelled "New address:" and "Again to confirm:".
  4. Underneath the button labelled "Change My Address and Name", tick the box marked "Change globally". This means you'll edit all the lists you're on.
  5. Click the button labelled "Change My Address and Name". Thanks - you're done!

I still have a question.

If you'd still like to know something, you can contact the webmaster (click here).
