This year Mary and several other people worked very hard to organise an exciting tour to Ghana. It was quite a different tour from those we've had before, as the lucky people going were teaching hockey out there, as well as (of course) having an amazing time. This tour guide shows the information on the organisation of the tour (written before it happened) and then the diary which was made while out there.
This year, ICHC are heading off to the West African country of Ghana for their annual summer tour. This crazy choice of destination hints at a rather surprising tour agenda; not just the usual sun, Sangria, and sexy Spanish ladies!
Well, this year's tour IS a little different. The adventurous club members will be teaching hockey to hundreds of eager Ghanaian school children (provided we're actually better than them!) in the heart of rural Africa - crazy! That's not to say however, that Team IC won't be consuming large amounts of throat-burning homebrew, that's just a given.
This trip will give our intrepid explorers a chance to immerse themselves in many different experiences and situations. These include a thriving African capital as well as deeply impoverished rural communities, some pristine nature reserves, and, perhaps most amusingly, the chance to play something akin to the Ghanaian National Team in the National Stadium!
This part of the website aims to keep all visitors and club members, both past and present, up to date with the team's progress.
